Resilience is a great quality to have for overcoming short to medium term challenges. But it’s also something that I believe can be used as a “cop out”.
When organisations provide their employees with resilience training to help them become more resilient, are they really saying “We need you to be able to put up with our rubbish better”?

Thank you for this podcast. I’ve been listening for a few weeks now and they’ve really helped but this one has really struck a chord with me. It’s all I’ve done for the past 6 years and I now suffer with mental health issues and I’m emotionally Burnt out. It’s really helped me understand what happened.
Sorry to hear that Georgia, but I’m glad it helped somewhat. I’m very skeptical of the need for “more resilience”…and often I think the real solution is to create better work environments.
